Go Mountain Bike is a mountain bike proficiency course. The course covers 4 themes - riding skills, first aid, being independent and self supporting and sharing the outdoors. There are 5 levels of proficiency across these 4 themes.
This new award scheme for mountain biking has been developed in partnership with key stakeholders including the CTC, MBLA, and Scottish Cycling, and was drafted by a panel of experts in the mountain biking sector. Cycling Scotland Education & Training Manager and founder member of the SMBLA, Jim Riach, MBLA Committee Member and Cycling Scotland Tutor Brian Salvona and current Scottish Mountain Bike Coach and Director of Dirt School, Chris Ball developed the resource to provide a comprehensive introduction to off-road riding.
